初次踏上中国大陸，旅游北京，桂林、杭州、苏州、上海、广州等地，为詩画创作添增许多题材。
受国家画廊邀請担任该馆蔵品鉴定工作。
Invited by the National Gallery to undertake the appraisal work of the museum's art collections.
Cheng visited the People’s Republic of China for the first time. He toured Beijing, Guilin, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou and many other places. These trips enriched his subsequent literary and artistic practices.
Cheng was invited by the National Art Gallery of Malaysia to appraise and value its permanent collection.

初次踏上非洲大陸，旅游肯尼亚、津巴步韦、坦桑尼亚、詹比亚、南非。次行采風丰富，所画維多利亚瀑布，好望角，桌山雲起，草原鴕鳥，非洲落日等作，回国后先后在吉隆坡、槟城举办非洲专题画展。
Cheng set foot on the African continent, travelling to Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, the Gambia and South Africa. His experience was unexpectedly diverse. Victoria Falls, the Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain, rising clouds, ostriches, sunsets and the likes became his new themes of painting. After returning to Malaysia, he held African-themed exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

亚洲书法联盟成立，郑浩千书法也在北京故宮博物绘画馆參展；郑氏被选为国际书法联盟副会长，大馬国际书法联盟会长。
The Asian Alliance of Chinese Calligraphy was established and it held a calligraphy exhibition in Palace Museum, Beijing. Cheng became the first and sole Malaysian to have his calligraphy pieces exhibited there; and be appointed as the Vice President of the International Alliance of Chinese Calligraphy as well as the President of its Malaysian chapter.
1994
中央艺术学院学生人数續增，院址迁至旧巴生路并增设空间寬闊［中央畫廊］。
The number of students of the Central Academy of Art continued to rise. It moved to a larger campus at Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur – containing a spacious exhibition space called Central Gallery.

郑氏受邀到北京中国美术馆举办画展。联办单位有中国美术家协会、中国画研究院、中马友好协会、徐悲鴻紀念馆、北京画院。画展期間郑氏拜访冰心、曹禺、启功、吴冠中等人。
郑氏担任：［94吉隆坡国际水墨画聫展及研讨会］会長。參與画家来自中国、香港、台湾、新加坡、马來西亚、印尼、澳洲、美国、加拿大。
由中央艺术学院首次主办中国文物鉴定课程，邀请中国资深鉴定家杨仁愷、耿宝昌、史树青、秦公、章津才主讲授课。
Cheng became the first and only Malaysian to be invited to hold a solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of China, the pinnacle of artistic achievement by Chinese artists. The co-organisers were Chinese Artists Association, Chinese Painting Research Institute, China-Malaysia Friendship Association, Xu Beihong Memorial Hall and Beijing Painting Academy.
The Central Academy of Art organised the 1994 International Exhibition and Seminar on Chinese Ink Wash Painting in Kuala Lumpur.
The Academy also convened the first Chinese art appraisal workshop in Malaysia. Facilitators were senior and nationally famed appraisers like Yang Renkai, Geng Baochang, Shi Shuqing, Qin Gong and Zhang Jincai.

Cheng left the Central Academy of Art to become the Director of Metropolitan Gallery of Fine Arts in Kuala Lumpur. In the same year, he was invited to hold a solo exhibition in Liaoning Provincial Museum.

The Central Academy of Art and several societies of art education held an art-teaching camp, in which senior art professors from Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia were invited to teach. Trainees were art teachers of local secondary schools and art centres.

Metropolitan Gallery of Fine Arts held an exhibition of the best entries of The 8th National Art Exhibition of China.

It further invited Shen Peng, the President of Chinese Calligraphers Association, to visit Malaysia and hold an exhibition of the Association’s artworks.
Metropolitan Gallery of Fine Arts organised an exhibition of the pieces by members of the International Alliance of Chinese Calligraphy.

Chinese Artists Association invited Cheng to install an exhibition of Malaysian artists’ works at the National Art Museum of China. The National Gallery of Malaysia endorsed Cheng to led a delegation of Malaysian artists to exhibit there.

Central Research Academy of Art invited Yu Qiuyu, a renowned writer in the Chinese-speaking world, to lecture in three cities of Malaysia (Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baharu). In the same year, Central Art Gallery held more than 10 exhibitions, one of which was about the photographs by Lang Jingshan.

Cheng took part in a Malaysia-Singapore group exhibition at the National Art Gallery of Malaysia. Other prominent artists who participated were Ho Ho Ying (President of Modern Art Society of Singapore), Khor Ean Ghee (President of Singapore Watercolour Society) and Tew Nai Tong.

Cheng received the Chinese Literature and Art Medal from Taiwan Literature and Art Association for his outstanding achievement in art. The same ceremony saw world-famous writer Yu Kwang-chung receiving the similar medal for his literary accomplishment.
